October Field Trips

Dear First Grade Parents,


First Grade has 2 field trips planned for October. The first field trip is to Trip to Caw Caw Interpretative Center on Friday, October 17th. They have an excellent program teaching about the plant life cycles using the pumpkin. The students will also decorate a pumpkin to take home. The cost is $5.00 per child and all chaperones are free. I will need drivers. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU MUST HAVE VIRTUS TRAINING, AND HAVE ALL FORMS NECESSARY FOR DRIVERS FILLED OUT IN THE OFFICE THE WEEK BEFORE THE FIELD TRIP. The program begins at 9:30. We will leave school by 9:00 and will return by noon. Students will then have lunch and recess. Please fill out the Field Trip forms, indicate whether or not you can drive and send your payment by October 13th.

The second trip is to see the Charleston Symphony Orchestra perform Peter and the Wolf. It will be on Thursday, October 30th at the Gaillard at 11:30. Cost for this field trip is $3 per person (that means chaperones most pay too). Since the performance is at 11:30 and it’s under an hour we will eat lunch when we get back to school. I will make sure we have a snack in the morning to tide us over until lunch.

I’m attaching Field Trip Permission Forms. Please send payment and both permission slips back by October 13th.
